You might not know West Arsi in your coffee map of Ethiopia. Until recently coffees grown in west Arsi have been included in Sidama and so while the region is not new to us the name is. The coffees that come from West Arsi are known for their fruit-forward profiles, typically they end up as Naturals but we are lucky to have gotten our mitts on this washed process. The Kurume variety in this lot comes from the forests of Yirgacheffe, and is popular among farmers throughout Yirgacheffe and Guji for its cup quality. The other variety in this lot, Wolisho is a local landrace identified for its quality and prevalence, originating in the highlands of Ethiopia. I'm really enjoying this coffee and I hope you do too!
