Aeropress

All About Aeropress

The Aeropress is an incredible coffee brewer, beloved for its versatile functionality, on-the-go portability, and rugged durability. With an Aeropress, it's easy to control all the different variables that go into making a great cup of coffee, which is why the simple brewer has become a standard piece of equipment for everyone from at-home coffee enthusiasts to competition baristas. We love the Aeropress here at MCC, and frequently use one to brew a cup of our single-origin coffees, especially when we're on the go. Have a look around, and drop us a line with any questions!

Aeropress History

The Aeropress was invented in 2005, by Alan Adler, founder and president of Aerobie, Inc. (If the name sounds familiar, it's because Alan also invented the famous Aerobie Flying Ring). Originally, the Aeropress was conceived as a device to make an espresso-like concentration of coffee for a cheaper price than a full espresso machine, but was quickly adopted for all manners of coffee preparation. Its durable plastic construction makes it perfect for travelers and a breeze to clean, and its small size is perfect for making just one cup. These days, the Aeropress enjoys global popularity, with an extensive community of fans and an annual global competition for the best Aeropress brew.
