This week's shipment of premium coffee started its life in the hills of the Oromia region of Ethiopia. Often considered the birthplace of coffee, the indiginous heirloom plants in this area produce beans with rich aroma and classic full-bodied flavor. When you think of specialty coffee, this is the stuff you think of. These particular beans were sun-dried after they were picked, giving the final cup a zesty lime kick that pairs quite well with the sweet watermelon and sugar flavors that round out the profile. In a world where specialty coffee production continues to grow and evolve, it's nice to get back to the roots with a tasty shipment of Hambela coffee.
