This shipment has made its way to you from Karongi, Rwanda, where it was grown among the hills of the Gitesi sector. These delicate Bourbon plants were tended by many small-holders in the region before being brought together at a private washing station for processing. And it's not your run-of-the-mill washing station (pun very much intended). Gitesi has been producing some of the best coffee out of Rwanda in recent years, with a Cup of Excellence win under their belt and tons of seriously good coffee to show for it. This particular batch packs the sweetest aroma in recent memory, carrying over into an opulent flavor profile: rich vanilla and rum notes with a dried fruit touch. Small lots of extremely tasty coffee like this one are always popping up, and it's our pleasure to find & share them with you!
