This lot comes from Hambela, in Guji, a well-recognised area for producing distinctive coffees. And this coffee is very distinctive. It's an incredibly complex coffee layered with white flowers, and notes of hibiscus and rosewater.
The complexity is off the charts with this coffee. It's super clean yet has distinctive flavors from berries and blackcurrant the whole way through to mango lassi and pineapple, with tons of florals. Not many coffees can boast that range with such clarity.
This is a real treat for washed Ethiopian lovers, and a treat for us too, to roast, cup and of course, enjoy!
We are getting great clean fruit and sweetness, warming mature red berries, blackcurrant, florals, and tropical flavors of pineapple and mango lassi.

Brewing at 1:13 I’m getting a clean, light bodied cup with tons of floral notes, as described. Also tasting a berry tartness. Very enjoyable.

This is quintessential Moustache coffee - complex, delicious, with layers of nuance. Floral and fruity, light acid, but with depth and grounding. This one doesn't float away into the ether. I don't give many perfect scores here, but this one hit all the right notes for me, and I'm loving it.
That's awesome Ethan, glad you liked it.

While I haven't reviewed Moustache coffees for a while, I must comment on this exquisite Kello Haro Sorsa from Ethiopia. It is jam-packed with subtle fruit flavors, deep, clean, complex, and absolutely delicious--a joy to roll around in your mouth. Veteran club members know how great that first brew-from-the-bag is, and this one will knock you over. I used a pour-over this time, but any brewing method will do. In my many years of drinking coffee, this might be the best Ethiopian that I've ever tasted. Bravo Hambela Bedessa, bravo Moustache!
Thanks Randall !

Haven’t really had the chance to sit and enjoy this one yet , but the first few shots were very unique. It does not come off as immediately berry forward, sometimes I get hints of like a cinnamon roll on the nose but not the taste. This one has a nice amount of body to it as well.
Glad you like it Teresa, the complexity is off the charts alright!
