Long time members will recognize the name Juan Saldarriaga and the name La Caludina. We've featured his coffees for the last few years. He is doing lots of interesting processing on his farm in Antioquia and we are very much the beneficiaries. It's not that usual for Colombian farmers to process their coffees using the natural method and so it's always interesting for us to try them. We really like this coffee and I'm sure you will too.
La Claudina is a farm with altitudes from 1400 - 1600 masl, located in Ciudad Bolivar in Antioquia. The farm has about 18 hectares planted with coffee of different varieties. The farm is so steep, that when you visit you need to ride mules to reach the different plots.
This coffee is delicate and light bodied with good complexity. Apple, stonefruit and berry like fruit, and rose like florals. We are getting jammy sweetness throughout.
Delicious.
