Muchagara is one of the oldest coffee factories in Kirinyaga, Kenya. Hundreds of small-holders from the local area who are members of the Baragwi Farmers’ Co-operative Society bring their cherry to the factory where it is sorted for size and quality before processing. Like most Kenyan coffees - the varietals are primarily SL28 and SL34 peppered with some other local varietals like Ruiru 11. Coffees at Muchagara Factory are dry-fermented before being washed in graded channels and dried on raised beds. They've been producing great coffee at this factory for many years - but this year's lots stood out especially for their bright flavors and extreme clarity. This particular lot is an AA, and we can't wait for you to get a taste of it!
Muchagara AA is an extremely high-quality coffee that impressed us with how crisp and clean its profile is. We're tasting some really juicy watermelon sweetness and bright raspberry flavors - all with a super light body and clean finish. You don't come across coffees with such a well-defined flavor profile every day - which is why we selected it for our Tasting Series!
